How to choose which eggs to buy

When you searching for a great quality egg there are many important factors to consider.
Here are a few points to remember next time you go down to your local supermarket or poultry supplier.

Size - the weight of the eggs are important as you are wanting something with a nice yolk and egg white filling
Supplier - where does the supplier get the eggs? What type of farming conditions are the chickens kept in to lay the eggs?

The shell - the condition of the shell is extremely important as the texture should have a smooth surface. As any defects to the inside of the egg could show as a raised area on the surface.

Quality of the eggs - when you purchase eggs in a carton whether a small or a large quantity it is always best to open the carton to ensure none of the eggs are damaged leaving you short a few broken eggs.

Shape - looking at the shape of an egg, it is meant to appeal an oval shape where one end is narrow and the other is a wider base. If the eggs do not look in the right proportion e.g. More of a rounded shape there could be a defect to the egg so it is best to steer clear if it doesn't quite look right.

So when it comes to eggs and making a decision on what eggs to buy for your daily intake, baking dishes or for your meals in your business, make sure you go through the above points to ensure you select the perfect eggs for you.
